Vitamins are required in trace
amounts micrograms to milligrams per day in the diet for
health, growth and reproduction. The amount of vitamins
that the animals require vary at different stage of
growth, performance level, environment conditions and
the amount of stress in the farms. In general, vitamins
in feed are generally inadequate, it is important that
animals are provided with vitamin additives to meet
their requirements. Omission of a single vitamin from
the diet of a species that requires it will result in
poor performance, reproduction and immune defense. |
